AEG Electrolux door lower seal 550mm

If your dishwasher is leaking from the front it is probably due to a damaged or perished door gasket. In a dishwasher there are two door gaskets, this is the one that runs along the bottom of the door. It is made of black rubber and measures 550 mm in length. 

In dishwashers, leakage into the machine room or between the hatch onto the floor is most commonly caused by a broken or worn lower shower arm. The wash arm located at the bottom of the machine may crack at the end and spray water directly into the door's anti-splash seal. The seal does not hold this direct shower, but the water gets to flow through the gap into the machine room and onto the floor in front of the machine. Check the spray arm (it comes off just by lifting it off). The arm may also wear loose, causing it to swing and cause waves in the water at the bottom of the machine. the splash protection seals on the hatch cannot survive those waves and leak again. A third cause of leakage is a clogged bottom strainer; the washing water does not pass through the fine filter quickly enough, so the level of the surface rises to the level of the splash protection seal on the door and the machine leaks from between the doors. Wash the fine filter carefully with hot water and a dish brush every couple of weeks. There is no need to replace the hatch splash protection seals unless they are physically broken (tear, split, etc.)
