In cabinets where the control panel/display is located in the door, the cause of the fault is more often a break in the wiring between the panel and the device's main circuit board than the panel itself. The wiring harness runs through the door's upper hinge and as it wears out, it starts to break at the hinge. It is necessary to measure whether all the wires are intact before the fault can be localized to the panel. The panel must be removed so that the wires can be measured ohmically. If necessary, contact your local home appliance service/electrician to perform the measurement. Sometimes it also happens that if the wiring harness breaks at the hinge, it causes a short circuit in the panel/display card and the display card also suffers. In this case, you must first repair the wiring harness and then replace it with a new display card (a faulty wiring harness will probably break the new card as well).
